This is what a commitment looks like once it is set.

You choose what is blocked and pick the date. From then on every device holds the same rules. The parts in brass cannot be changed by anyone until the date passes.

Why an off switch is the problem

A block you can remove in thirty seconds is a suggestion.

Every other blocker has an off switch. Some hide it behind a delay, a password or a friend. At 11pm you will find it. You know this, which is why you are here.

Vowius has none. Not for you, not for a partner, not for whoever pays, not for us. The decision you made in daylight is the one that holds.

How it stays on

Detection, not prevention.

A device you own can always be wiped. We do not pretend otherwise. What we do is make every other route slow, visible and pointless.

  3. 03The server's clock decides the end. Changing the date on a device does nothing.
  4. 04Stopping the filter, removing a permission or reinstalling is detected and shown, and told to your partner if you asked for that.
  5. 05If Vowius disappears, two offline release keys, published and known to every app, release every device. A device that cannot reach the server for two weeks past its date releases itself.

Questions

The ones people ask before they start.

Can my partner, or whoever pays, turn it off?
No. A partner sees only whether protection is running on each device, when a device has been silent for a day, and when a commitment is about to end. You can end the partnership at any time. Payment status has no effect on the lock.
What do you store about me?
Counts of blocked attempts per category per quarter hour, and whether each device is running. Never what you visit, search or open. The tables have no column for it.
What if I wipe or lose a device?
A device you own can always be wiped. We detect it, show it on your dashboard, and tell your partner if you asked. Your other devices keep blocking. The date does not move.
What if my card fails?
Nothing unlocks. You keep every active commitment to its date and lose only the ability to start or extend one.
What if Vowius shuts down?
Two offline release keys are published and known to every app. Either one releases every device. A device that cannot reach the server for two weeks past its date releases itself.
